Sundance Resort Hakone Gora

For a one-night stay, this was a really enjoyable hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were comfortable and roomy. It’s also easy to find, close to Gora Station.

Our Futon for 3 room was quite big and really cute, with two low single beds and one mattress. The resort is a five-minute walk from Gora station, and the Open air museum is about 10-15 minutes away on foot. A ticket costs $20 (Aud). There aren’t many places to eat, but 7-11 is a 20-25 minute walk away, so you can pick up meals in advance. It’s a decent resort.

A comfortable, healing place to get away from the crowds and hectic city. Guests can use the washing machine, drinking machine, and microwave freely, and there’s a share onsen bath where you can clean yourself. The staff were kind and very helpful to us as foreigners. It’s a five-minute walk from the train and bus station.

The hotel is a bit old, but still clean and seems well maintained. We had a quiet, relaxing stay, and the staff were really friendly and eager to please. The restaurant was pretty good, especially the breakfast buffet with Western and Japanese dishes. Dinner is a bit pricey, though the quality is quite good. I’d recommend it.
