The Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts Sengokuhara

This was the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in, and I had the best Western-style dinner I've ever had. I should add that I've never stayed at a hotel with a standard room rate over $1,500, so I can't compare at that level.

The food was a huge part of the stay. The half-board breakfast and dinner were included, and both were multi-course meals at a Michelin level. The restaurant group behind the hotel makes that quality less surprising. Shout out to Shuto Ishii, who gave us incredible service despite our two raucous toddlers. Staff were excellent throughout, arranging taxis, luggage service, massages, and an open-air bath reservation. Our room was spacious, with spectacular views, especially from the higher floors of the residence building. The antique and mid-century furniture looked great against the modern exterior. They'd also provided thoughtful little amenities, including a diaper pail for the kids. The included bath was pretty nice too, though it's part of the bathroom.

A peaceful little luxury hotel with lovely surroundings. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. The room was spacious and comfortably fit three people. It had an onsen, and you could also book a very nice private one. Highly recommend. Stayed 28/2/24

We all enjoyed our stay at this property. The annex felt more private, and our room had a view of Mount Fuji. There was an onsen tub in the bathroom, and the water quality was excellent. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Parking on the property was free, and Owakudani is very close by. The spa was average and outsourced. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it.
