We came for a home-style dinner because our friends were staying there, and it felt like eating at a cousin's house with a kind grandmother. The host mom made soy milk hot pot, and it was so good, maybe the best meal in Hakuba! The vintage style is lovely and cosy, and the whole host family welcomed us so warmly. Really appreciate their kindness.
We played the grand piano in the dining area during breakfast, and there’s an upright one nearby too. Such a cool touch. The hosts were accommodating and very kind, and helped make the stay more comfortable.
This was a last-minute two-day trip to Hakuba, and I arrived just after check-in. They welcomed me so warmly that I felt like family. Even as a foreigner living in Japan, I didn't feel like a stranger. The old-time decor was cute and nostalgic, and it was wonderfully quiet. They clearly care about making the place relaxing, with the peaceful setting, bath, and sauna. I only got to use the bath because of my schedule, but I'll try the sauna next time. It's about a 12-minute walk to restaurants and food trucks. I couldn't try the lodge's dinner or breakfast this time, but I bet they're great. I'll be back soon.
Dinner was amazing.
I was in town for the Hakuba BMW event and would happily stay here again. The wooden interior gives the place a modern feel, and the young proprietress was so kind and helpful. We also had a nice chat about her hometown and the building's history. Thanks for looking after us.
