Hotel Grand Bach Sendai

The route from the station takes about ten minutes and is easy and pleasant, so it didn’t feel like a long walk. There’s a convenience store right below the hotel, and a paid parking lot in the narrow lane behind it. I really enjoyed staying here. The room was bright and spacious, and the public bath was comfortable. The lobby is upstairs, and even the elevator has a calm, pleasant scent. They had drinks, local snacks, and late-night snacks available there, a thoughtful little extra.

It’s a new hotel with decent-sized rooms, good facilities, and a handy spot near the station. The lobby lounge also has complimentary drinks and snacks, with choices changing through the day. I’d have given it five stars if they’d let me check in just 40 minutes early. They wouldn’t, and wanted to charge me for it.

The evening supper was a welcome extra after a day out. I liked it so much that I went straight to enjoying it and forgot to take photos. The onsen was another nice surprise, well kept and a relaxing place to unwind before bed. Hotel Grand Bach Sendai is centrally placed near JR Sendai Station, making it easy to get to shops and food and explore the city. The room was modern, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, with a peaceful feel after sightseeing. Staff were warm and attentive throughout, and we felt looked after. I hadn’t expected to stay somewhere inspired by Bach, but check-in kicked off a very comfortable visit. It’s a good base if you want comfort and convenience in the city, and I’d happily stay at Hotel Grand Bach Sendai again when I return to Sendai.

The beds were comfortable, and the compact rooms were nicely decorated with all the useful things you need. It’s a luxurious-feeling place about a six-minute walk from Sendai station. Some of the friendly staff can speak English, and there’s a nice sento on the top floor. A great place to stay while seeing Sendai and nearby sights.
