There are at least two convenience stores nearby, which was handy. The station is a bit of a walk, around 20 minutes, though you can take a scenic route through shopping and dining streets, or a bus that takes about five minutes. The rooms were a decent size, but the fridge or purifier buzzed constantly and was distracting at first. I eventually tuned it out. The heater took a few minutes to start and was much louder, with a strong rumbling sound. We got cold at night in spring in this coastal city, and when we asked in person for an extra blanket, there weren’t any. I can’t imagine how people manage in winter. It also made me wonder what would happen if a blanket got soaked, since there seemed to be no replacement. I found it hard to believe that the hotel didn’t have phones in the rooms for contacting the front desk in an urgent situation. Guests have to take the elevator down to ask, and it seemed there was only one elevator serving nine or more floors.

I stayed in room 302 from 27 September to 1 October 2021. The location is central, near shopping, two convenience stores, famima and lawson, Sendai International Center and Tōhoku University. It’s between two major stations on the Tōzai line, and there’s no curfew as long as you have your key card. The room had bedding, two chairs, a desk, a small fridge, a large TV and a microwave. It was fairly clean, and the service was good and adequate. You can get fresh towels at the front desk each day. There’s one large elevator in the middle of the building, and two sets of coin laundry machines on the first floor. Detergent is sold separately at the front desk. The window was locked and looked onto a neighboring concrete building, so little sun reached the room. There was a separate dehumidifier in the corner. Even with that drawback, it’s an affordable place to stay when visiting Sendai International Center. Thanks for the good service.

I booked this place out of desperation, but honestly would rather have slept somewhere else. It smelled bad, the towels smelled too, the furniture was damaged, and I saw an ant crawling on the bed. Be careful.

At first I thought the name lovemax meant it was a love hotel, lol. It’s actually a good, affordable place right in the middle of Sendai.
