Hotel Monte Hermana Sendai

We stayed three nights, from 26 to 29 Jan 26. At 11pm, the staff gave us a warm welcome for our late check-in. We were put on the 14th floor, with a pleasant view of Sendai’s streets. The room felt dated, though it was still functional, and one corner of the bed creaked a bit. The hot bath on the 9th floor was clean and enjoyable, with a sauna that rotates daily and free ice cream. There was also a staff member stationed at the women’s section entrance. Other facilities included coin laundry at 300 yen per wash, ice dispensers, and a women-only floor on the 13th. A non-alcoholic drinks corner was open from 2pm to midnight. We tried the hot chocolate at 9pm, but it wasn’t working and no one was attending the area. We asked to check out about an hour late because we’d arrived so late, but the hotel wanted 1000 yen per hour, so we declined. The link bridges on L2 were a useful way to get between the hotel and Sendai train station, and let us pass AER and PARCO along the way. It was faster overall, though still at least a 10-minute walk, and longer with big luggage. I’d followed advice in reviews to use that route. The stay was pleasant. I hope there can be some improvements to the guest experience, especially for a reputable hotel chain by Monterey Group.
