The Aoi room was spacious, with million-dollar views across the valley, and there were plenty of comfortable shared areas for relaxing or working. We stayed four nights and loved it. The host family was lovely, the inn is gorgeous, and the food was outstanding. We let them know in advance that we’re vegan, and they went out of their way to make us separate breakfast and dinner menus. The location is handy for several Hakuba ski resorts, especially Snow Harp Cross Country if you’re there for Nordic skiing.

I love this Ryokan and have now stayed here twice. The owners are kind, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the dishes they prepare are delicious and presented with such care. ☺️

The host even brought the sunglasses I’d left over to my new hotel, which I really appreciated. They also kindly picked us up at the bus stop. We had a cozy room with lovely Japanese-style interiors, and the host family served us delightful Japanese breakfasts and dinners. I’d recommend staying here.
