Chika-san made us feel so welcome and looked after us the whole time. She chatted with us, helped us find restaurants and activities, and is keen to practice her English with guests. Sekkasai Lodge really felt like a family home, with cosy, tidy rooms and clean amenities. It's also well placed, about a 7 minute walk to town and 15 minutes to the gondola lift. We had a fantastic stay and can't wait to come back and see her again soon!

Breakfast was good, and the location worked well for town and Happo 1. There’s free Wi-Fi too. The rooms are heated, but the floor mattress wasn’t very comfortable, and our neighbors were noisy. The three shared showers are only open from 5 to 9 pm. We also found the place locked when the owners went out, so there wasn’t regular access to get back in. I even had to return for my lift pass and found it locked then.

Chika and her husband made our stay so lovely, and they couldn’t have been friendlier. The room was clean, breakfast was amazing, and the accommodations felt cozy. The location is great too. Whenever we come back to Hakuba, we’ll stay here again.

Everything was simple, clean, and well organized at this ski lodge, which is run by a lovely couple. The hosts put in extra effort to make the stay enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was delicious, home cooked, and ready right on time each morning. I stayed for seven nights in January on a ski holiday, and had everything I needed. It’s a traditional hotel that’s kept in good shape, with lovely, passionate staff. They don’t speak English, but they work hard to communicate, using Google Translate and taking time to talk with each guest every day. Bars, shops, and restaurants are an easy ten minute walk away.
