Ski-in, Ski-out Hatsuyuki Apartments

The downstairs brew pub was a lovely part of our stay. It has a wood burning stove, a friendly team, and Dexter was a welcoming host with plenty of drinks and food to choose from. We spent Christmas here and had dinner at the pub. Daniel and his family were another real highlight. They know the region well and helped us with ski lessons, lift passes, and equipment hire. Daniel also gave us rides to and from the bus, took us shopping at the local supermarket, and advised us when we needed a quick medical visit that wouldn’t feel scary. We were a family of four with two nearly grown-up kids, and the apartment was just right for our seven-day stay. It was warm and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen, fridge, washer and dryer, and a gear drying room downstairs. The ski lifts were only a three- to five-minute walk away, and we had amazing views of them. I’m almost reluctant to write such a lovely review because I want the place available for my next trip to Japan.

The location worked perfectly for us. One of the long lifts is nearby, so getting onto the slopes was easy, and if the kids still had energy afterward, they could play in the snow or go sledding close by. Our apartment was roomy and cozy, with everything we needed. Snowy views filled the windows in every room. We also appreciated the big basement drying room, where our ski and snowboard gear was ready to use again the next day. We had a lovely family stay and plan to come back.

We had a fantastic stay and found the apartment very high spec. We were there in summer, but it would be great to return in winter and ski straight to the lift. They let us use the lake facilities twice, and our girls absolutely loved that. The team was helpful with the little issues that came up. The mountains are beautiful, and this makes a great base for exploring. I’d happily recommend staying here.

Daniel made everything easy, including our train station pickups and drop-offs and arranging taxis and dinner reservations. Thanks for a great stay. We’ll be back. We were two families, four adults and five kids, in the Hatsuyuki 4 bed apartment, with plenty of room for everyone. It was new and clean, right across from the Iwatake ski lifts and next door to the brew pub.
