The staff made our five nights at The Joint in echoland Hakuba feel easy and fun. Everyone was friendly and ready to help, and Jake picked us up from the train station on our first day. He knew a lot about the town, what to do, and where to eat. We had a private room with an ensuite, which was perfect for us. The lodge also has dorms and a dry room downstairs for ski and snowboard gear. The location suited us well, with plenty of good restaurants and bars within walking distance and buses to all the resorts close by. We loved staying here and will 100% come back next time we’re in Hakuba. I’d recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting.

We’d happily stay here again, and booking ahead is a good idea. Breakfast was included and set us up for an early ski session. We had a room with a shared bathroom and expected that might be a bother, but it really wasn’t. Everything was clean and high quality, especially the huge, warm shower rooms with great rain showers. The service was fantastic.

The hosts and employees were so kind and made a real effort to help me feel at home. They all spoke fluent English, which was a plus. The place is also in a phenomenal spot, just a couple of minutes from the bus stop serving the local ski resorts, and a few minutes on foot from lots of bars and restaurants. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying around Hakuba.

We booked a week and ended up wishing we had more time. The place was super clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Restaurants are walkable, and the bus terminal for ski resorts and connecting towns is about 2 minutes away. There’s a relaxed, friendly feel in the common area, with an open fire, and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend it.

The manager pointed us toward the best snow with the smallest crowds each day, which was the standout for us. I stayed four nights in the dormitory. The rates were great, the service excellent, and the dorm was spacious, with lots of storage and comfortable beds. I’ll keep this place in mind for the upcoming season.
