The view across Hamana lake was lovely. I also appreciated being able to have traditional vegetarian food. The room and meals were both very nice.

The staff made our stay. They were cheerful and helpful at every turn, and communication was easy even though I hadn't expected much English in this area. They really went out of their way for us. Our room was spacious and came with a private onsen where we could soak while looking out over the lake. We also tried the public onsen's garden bath, and liked both. The meals were excellent, with generous portions and every course brought to us. It felt like the chefs had put real care into the food. We had a wonderful stay at this ryokan-style hotel.
