Kanzanji Sago Royal Hotel - Vacation STAY 43400v

The room was spacious but very old, with wooden walls, furniture, tables, and a wooden cupboard. When I picked up a glass and smelled it, there was a strong musty odor. I felt uneasy, worrying it might affect my nose and lungs. I also took a sip from the glass. There are many things that may happen in the future, and many things that do happen.

A modest, relatively inexpensive place to stay among the Kanzanji Onsen hotels, close to Kanzanji Temple. Sun Royal Hotel Hamanako used to be called the Kanzanji Sago Royal Hotel. Guest rooms have spectacular views over Lake Hamana, and the rooftop open-air bath offers a beautiful view too.

There are still signs that this used to be a proper hotel. It caters exclusively to Chinese tour groups. Meals are buffet style, but some items are gone if you arrive late. The large public bath is like a hot spring, but after the other group members have left, I don't feel like going in. The room didn't make me itchy, but strange noises kept me from getting a good night's sleep.

The room is extremely itchy, so there must be mites. In the men's large communal bath, an elderly female staff member pretends to clean while repeatedly staring at you. It's very unpleasant. Just when you think she's gone, she comes back in.
