Yamanokami Onsen Yuukaen

I left my luggage on the shuttle to Hanamaki station, and the staff went and got it themselves and brought it to the station for me. They were great. This is the best onsen there is, and I’ll come back for more than one night next time.

The dinner is a set menu each night with your stay, and you can reserve extra dishes to add on. The food is incredible, absolutely top notch. Rooms are a good size, though they can feel a bit cold since there doesn’t seem to be much heating. Otherwise, it’s a pretty nice place.

The package food was one of my favorite parts, and for the price it’s well worth a visit. This was my first time at a hot spring hotel, and I love this place! The staff were helpful and looked after everything. My room was a big, traditional Japanese-style space with tatami mats. There are two hot springs, one small and one large.

We spent two nights here, and each night we went to the outdoor hot springs, rain or shine. The welcome from the staff was warm, from the janitorial team right through to management. The food was exquisite, a word I don’t get to use often. Every part of the review prompts could get its own write-up for how good it was.
