Candeo Hotels Handa

I’ve spent millions of yen at this hotel and am a platinum member, but I left feeling as if they thought I was trying to steal breakfast. I booked two rooms for my family of five, including one child. At the desk, I was told the free breakfast covered only two people, and we agreed. I gave one breakfast ticket to the person in the other room. The next morning, my wife and I went to the restaurant with just one ticket, and I said I’d pay for the extra person. They asked where the ticket came from and suggested it might have been given by mistake. I explained that my platinum membership entitled me to it for free, but they insisted on seeing my membership login page. After I showed it, they questioned me about the two other family members in the other room. I said they weren’t having breakfast, but they still seemed suspicious, like I was trying to get a meal without paying. I won’t stay here again, and I’ll tell my colleagues the same. (2025/01/04)

I only booked here because it was near our customer’s location. The room was clean and nicely finished, but so tiny there was barely room for the bed and luggage. The double bed is a tight fit for two by Western standards, and the elevator waits were really long. What bothered me most was arriving with my wife and finding that they’d doubled the room charge and removed the free breakfast included in the reservation my agent had made. Their explanation was cold and didn’t make much sense. I’d only stay here alone for one night on a customer visit. Otherwise, I’d avoid it.

There’s a hot bath on the top floor, open until 10 pm, and the hotel also has a washing machine and dryer. You can borrow bicycles for free to get around town. The elevator is big, the Wi-Fi is very fast, and towels, toothpaste, and toothbrushes are replaced daily. Rooms are cleaned every day as well. Complimentary breakfast, and the hotel has all the facilities you need.

There aren’t many options for vegetarians. The rooms are about the same size as at other hotels, and there’s a hot pool in Japanese style where you can relax after a tiring day.
