Kinsuikan

We had a memorable stay on a wonderful island. The rooftop terrace has a great sunset view and looks out toward the torii gate, with free drinks available. Our spacious room had a massage chair and room for four futons, and we had saiseki dinner served there. The door was brilliant and the service fantastic. We also booked a private onsen, which easily fit four people. The yukata was the best quality we came across during our holiday. The hotel is right by the water and about a five-minute walk from Itsukushima torii gate. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the exceptional staff.

I wish we’d booked two nights instead of just one. The view from the mizuori room was lovely, and the shrine and shops are an easy walk away. We ordered a dinner set and they served it in the room, almost like having a private chef. There were plenty of drinks and snacks in the room and around the hotel, and we could reserve a private onsen. The futons were really comfortable, and the cute yukatas were a nice touch. I’d love to come back on my next trip.

The meals were a real highlight, though they may not suit picky eaters who aren’t used to Japanese food. Yuki guided us through dinner, preparing and explaining each dish. Breakfast was included too, and both meals were amazing and interesting. After dinner, they made up our futons, and we slept like kings. Check-in was quick, the staff spoke English well, and they gave us yukatas before showing us to a marvellous room. The rooftop bar was also great, with free alcohol for guests. We stayed one night on miyajima. It may look expensive, but I thought it was very good value for what you get.

The room had an amazing view, and the service and amenities were excellent. It’s a great base for exploring the island, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Miyajima and stay here again.
