The meals cost quite a bit, but they taste great and come in generous portions, so I left satisfied. The rooms have been renovated, though the toilets are shared. It’s quiet here, the hot spring is available whenever you want, and the price is reasonable. I’d definitely come back. The inn is near Tsubakiyama Dam and feels a little understated, perhaps because Ryujin Onsen is farther along the road. Still, the thick, slippery water and the visible hot spring deposits really stand out. It’s a heated, circulating sodium bicarbonate spring, but the water feels almost as if it’s flowing naturally, and my skin felt smooth afterward.
The meal was delicious, with plenty to eat, and cost about 1,000 yen, which felt inexpensive. I appreciated the courteous service. I was told that day-use hot spring bathing had been suspended because of COVID-19. They open at 11:00, though I couldn’t find a closing time listed.
The dinner was so good that my wife and I couldn’t finish it, even on the 10,000 yen plan. Next time, I’ll go for the cheapest business plan. We drove there and stayed together. The bath area is small, with just three washing stations, but the warm water felt really nice♪ You can stay on your own without paying extra, so it seems ideal for a solo motorcycle tour.
The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. For 10,000 yen, the amount of food felt like a real bargain with today’s high living costs. I stopped here while on a cycling trip. It started as a public inn meant to help revitalize the town and is now run by a designated management company. The bath is small and has only an indoor pool, but the silky Ryujin Onsen water was lovely and left my skin feeling moisturized.
The staff, most of them women, were all warm and helpful. For what you get, I thought the price was hard to beat, and I’d stay again if I’m in the area. I stayed in February 2025, paying just 7,810 yen including tax for one night with breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious and clean, almost like it had just been renovated. Both meals were generous and satisfying, and dessert was delicious too. The inn’s description called the portions small, but I found that wasn’t true at all. The spring water was clear and colorless, a little hot and quite thick, and it left my skin feeling smooth. As described, it’s disinfected with chlorine in a circulating filter, so there’s a slight chlorine smell, though it didn’t bother me much.
