Great views and rooms, terrific food, and the staff were the best.

Dinner was a treat, with every dish carefully prepared, and breakfast started on a high note with exquisite golden-eyed snapper soup. The room and open-air bath both had spectacular ocean views, and the cherry blossoms right beside the bath made for a memorable sight. The inn sits on a hill and feels peaceful and quiet. It was good value for us, and our whole family was very happy with the stay. Thanks for a wonderful time.

The food was delicious, and I loved quietly taking in the view from the open-air bath. The owner is quiet, and though the rooms are old, they're carefully kept and spotlessly clean. And there was Natchan, the adorable old lady cat. I found the whole stay truly relaxing. By chance, only two couples were there: my husband and me, and an older couple who were regulars and had also come from Setagaya. It made things especially calm and comfortable. I'd love to return, and hope it stays a peaceful inn for well-mannered adults.

We've stayed here more than ten nights now, and the chef-owner's warm manner and the thoughtful care throughout the place make it such a comfortable environment. The food is delicious, and the golden-eyed snapper head soup at breakfast is wonderful. It always leaves me thinking, from the heart, that I want to come back again. The mascot cat, Nacchan, is adorable too, a real treat for cat lovers.

The bath is an actual Inatori Onsen, even though this is a pension. You can use it privately at any time, without booking, and the open-air bath has a lovely view. The water is circulated. Cherry trees have been planted nearby, so at this time of year petals float in the tub and make it a very picturesque place to enjoy the blossoms. Getting there by car can be tricky. Google Maps sends you down a narrow road that you can't pass through. Going around the back doesn't help, since a cliff has collapsed and that route is blocked too. The right way is around the side of Inatori Cemetery. The directions on the official website aren't clear for first-time visitors, and there are no signs along the way, so check the map image. The building is old but renovated and well cared for. There are three room types for everyone from solo travelers to families, and dogs and cats seem to be allowed at no extra charge. The first floor, restaurant included, is off-limits because it's Natsu-chan the mascot cat's territory. From the window the view is stunning, with a nice breeze when you open it. There's air conditioning for summer, and Wi-Fi worked for me, as did au. The room bathroom and toilet are modular units without hot water flushing, which I'd like to see improved. There is also a toilet on the first floor. The standard meal is French, though plans can swap the main course to steak or change the spiny lobster portion from half to a whole one. There's a Japanese course and a children's plate as well. Most visitors, though, seem to come for the marinated golden-eyed snapper carpaccio. It's so filling that it feels like the main course, even though it's meant to be an hors d'oeuvre. You can get as many baguette refills as you like. After that comes a full course with seasonal soup, herb grilled spiny lobster, oven-baked chicks, salad, dessert, and coffee. There's plenty of wine to choose from, plus a bar where most things are available. Cocktails are remarkably cheap at 600 yen. Breakfast is simple, with toast, omelette, and salad. The soup is either golden-eyed snapper or spiny lobster, depending on your preference. If bouillabaisse were added as another option, that would make the menu perfect for me. I was very satisfied and thought it was good value. I'd highly recommend it to anyone without animal allergies.
