The sea view from the hotel's outdoor onsen is beautiful, and the view overall is great. Check-out at noon was really convenient, and unusually late for Japan. At check-in, they let you choose what time to have breakfast, which was delicious. The welcome drinks and snacks were lovely too. Some staff were incredibly helpful and warm. The older man who helped me check out tried hard to remind me about the shuttle to the station, and he made me think of my grandpa. A few women at the front desk weren't helpful, though, perhaps because they don't speak English and feel nervous talking to foreign guests. I'll miss this place.

We spent two wonderful nights in room Mizuki at Inatori-so, from 15th Feb-17th Feb. Our room had a private onsen facing the ocean waves, and soaking there was incredibly relaxing. The room was clean and came with complimentary drinks, including juice and beer. The man who checked us in was so sweet. We spoke very little Japanese, but he did his best to explain everything simply. He wasn't the only kind one, either. Nearly everyone at the hotel was friendly, and we really felt the hospitality of inatori-so. Since we stayed for two nights, we had different dinners each evening, and both meals were delicious. It was our honeymoon, and they remembered, then gave us a gift to congratulate us. That was very sweet of them 🥹. We'd definitely return after such a great stay.

We had a great two-night stay. The tatami room was cozy and clean, with a beautiful ocean view. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of local specialties, and it was excellent. Be sure to book your time slot ahead. There's also a private onsen on the third floor that you can reserve, highly recommended. The service was friendly, and it was a nice surprise that one staff member spoke Chinese. The first-floor gift shop had a good selection at reasonable prices. I'd happily come back.

The hotel kindly drove everyone to Izu Higashiyama Station when a typhoon and heavy rain stopped all the trains from Izu Kita-Da to Izu Higashiyama Station. I'm very grateful for that shuttle service. Dinner was lovely too, and the staff introduced each dish with real professionalism and enthusiasm.

I still like Inatori-so, but after the problems on my second visit, I think the facilities need a major renovation and the hotel should pay more attention to details, especially given the high price. On the first night I nearly left a one-star review, then the changes they made won me back. At checkout, the front desk apologized about the lukewarm water, but that was all. My first visit was around Nov-24’ for two nights in 420 “Tsumugi”, and it was superb. Inatori-so became one of my favorite onsen ryukan in Izu, so I brought my parents along in Feb-25’. They stayed in Tsumugi and we had room 520 “Xiao”. This time both rooms only had lukewarm water in the private onsen and showers. It was too cold to stay outside, and I felt cold using the shower too. I called the front desk, and a staff member came to check, but couldn't change the temperature. The staff member was very kind, but we lost an expensive night of onsen. I also found the duvet too short for my 180cm height, and my feet stuck out. The duvet in Tsumugi was a normal size. The same staff member found a slightly longer one in an empty room, though this still wasn't what I expected from a place like this, and he promised to tell the manager. In the morning, another staff member said the water temperature was due to the cold weather, strongest, longest cold wave, to be fair, and that they'd increase the amount of hot onsen water. When I returned, the onsen and shower were at normal temperatures, and the duvet had been replaced with a normal-sized one. I was happy with those fixes and felt the ryukan had redeemed itself. Later, when I was exhausted after many hours of driving and not much sleep, I could clearly hear people talking behind the wall near my bed. I suspected it was a staff utility room. I got up and found two staff members who seemed to be working on or checking pipework, and had to ask them to keep their voices down. The next morning after breakfast, I was relaxing in the room when I heard staff making quite a lot of noise while cleaning other rooms. That was annoying. At dinner that evening, a staff member asked what I wanted to drink. I asked for recommendations for sweet sake, but he just pointed at the drinks menu and left me to look through it. The person carrying coffee or black tea after breakfast also splashed a lot into the tray each time. It was hard to see that kind of behavior.
