Himi Onsenkyo Uomeguri No Yado Eihokaku

The spacious room had a good view across the ocean bay. In the morning, we could see mist over the water and fishermen heading out. The facilities are a little dated, and the lobby is completely dark at night.

We’ve been here for five nights, and the stay is much better than we expected. The staff are efficient, very courteous, and kind. The ocean view is unobstructed and perfect. Dinner has been fantastic each night, with an extensive variety of courses that leaves us very full. The free-flow Himi gelato buffet at breakfast and dinner is hard to resist, so expect to gain weight. Very satisfied bellies 🥰 The six onsen pools are huge and free for guests. The rooms are a little old, but the stay is still well worth it. There isn’t much to see nearby, though there’s a free daily shuttle to the shopping area or train station. It’s a nice escape from busy cities like Tokyo. We had to leave at 5 am and miss breakfast, so the staff offered complimentary sushi, booked a taxi, and planned our route to the next destination. When we were late for the shuttle, they called us and knocked on our door to make sure we didn’t miss it. An earthquake happened on January 1, our last night at the hotel. The professional staff made sure everyone was safe and moved the elderly guests and others to lower floors in an orderly way. They handed out blankets and water and arranged transport for us the next day. It was a truly wonderful experience, and I’d love to come back.

The hospitality was so warm and welcoming, and the food was wonderful. Our room was relaxing and spotless, with a great view. The location and facilities were good too, and the cost was low. I’d recommend this place any time of year to anyone planning a trip nearby.
