I stayed here in Toyama Prefecture on the fifth and final day of my trip to Noto. I'd heard it was a guesthouse, but the five-story building gave me more of a business hotel impression.

The sashimi platter is a showstopper, with a generous amount of fresh seafood laid out in front of you. There was shrimp, octopus, salmon, tuna, and sea urchin, all bright and glistening. The sea urchin had a deep, savory taste, the shrimp was sweet and firm, and the octopus had a springy bite. Each had its own character and made for a fun range of flavors. Shiso leaves, chrysanthemum petals, and parsley added plenty of color. This guesthouse lets you enjoy fresh local seafood in generous portions. The platter looks beautiful as well as tasting great, and it really shows off what the local catch can be. I'd recommend trying it if you visit Misaki, whether as a special meal or simply because you love seafood.
We used to come as a couple every year, booking the "Plenty of Sashimi Plan," and always left full and happy. This time we came with five people and chose the "Plenty of Sashimi Plan [Basic Kaiseki Meal... with an upgraded, luxurious whole sashimi platter]". We expected a filling meal, but the boat-shaped platter was only enough for about two people. I was shocked. Five people needed two platters, but we got one. I'd built up the expectations of the three people with me, and they were really disappointed. There was no hot water in the shower either, so we couldn't use the bath. They only told us at check-in. If they'd let us know beforehand, we would have canceled. When we paid, I could see my husband trying not to laugh. They charged us for five people even though the food was enough for only two. Breakfast is always miserable, too. All the inns nearby have gone out of business, leaving this as the only place still running, and I feel it must be pulling this kind of trick. I'm so frustrated. I'll never go back.
It was amazing, and so delicious I was deeply moved 😭. Thank you to Minshuku Misaki and the fish from Toyama Bay. I wonder if there's anywhere with better fish than Toyama. After eating yellowtail here, I don't think I'll be satisfied with fish sold elsewhere. I definitely want to come back 🙏
The toilet and fridge are shared, but I wasn't especially inconvenienced. The guesthouse was well kept, and I enjoyed the salty hot spring. For me, it was more than enough and very satisfying. Breakfast was delicious too.
