Hotel Versys

They insisted my car would definitely have to be moved, so I had to leave my keys with them. The service was a mixed bag. The guy in the grey suit, I think, had a bad attitude. He explained why they were moving my car in a half-angry way, and when I asked what time breakfast was, he just half-laughed and answered. It was really annoying.

During Golden Week, when every other hotel was booked, I tried to return to my car. A shaved-head staff member came out and said they were tidying up and a room would be ready in ten minutes, then asked what I wanted to do. I said I'd wait, went back to my car for my luggage, and headed to reception. The same person came out and told me they were fully booked, so I couldn't get in. The lack of common sense here was shocking. I'm actually glad I didn't stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

After entering through the noren curtains and front door, I parked and took my key to the front desk. They move the door to make it easier to exit later. I picked my room on the big monitor, a type B room with a manual lock. 🗝 When I went in, there was a faint cigarette smell. There seemed to be a fair amount of turnover, with people leaving after taking a break for movies and such. If your budget allows, I'd recommend the place across the street.

I paid a fine because I checked out at 12:10 instead of 12:00. In 49 countries of travel, I'd never been fined for staying over. The receptionist was rude and seemed unconcerned about how customers felt, playing with her face without any shame. I kept my manners and paid, while she continued to act rudely.
