The staff were the best part for me: unfailingly kind, courteous, and professional. I felt really well looked after. Special thanks to the ladies working the morning of January 20, 2026; they were so lovely and helpful, and deserve praise and a raise. I can’t wait to stay again. The hotel was my absolute favorite of the nine we stayed in during our nearly three weeks in Japan, even though all nine were honestly great. From our room on the 22nd floor, the view was amazing. In the evening we could relax at the 25th-floor lounge with complimentary drinks and snacks and look out over the city lights without leaving the building. Housekeeping brought fresh pajamas every day, which felt like a real luxury. The location was great too, an easy walk from Peace Park and the main shopping arcade streets.

The guest lounge was a lovely place to pause, with stunning city views, and the room and amenities were excellent. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. We arrived early, and while we waited for our room, Midori took us on a wonderful walking tour of nearby sites, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park, and shared lots of interesting information. It was a perfect introduction to Hiroshima. We loved our six nights in January 2026 and would happily stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Hiroshima again. Highly recommend it.

I can’t post a long review just yet, maybe I’ll add one with pictures later, but here are the highlights from our Winter 2024 stay: the room was spacious and had a beautiful view of Hiroshima bay, which we could also enjoy at breakfast. There was a lovely breakfast spread, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel offered luggage forwarding, and the hospitality was very Japanese. It’s great value and conveniently close to the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Dome.

Breakfast had a large selection, and guests could use the lounge for snacks. The service was great, too. I got much more than I expected for the price. My room had a lovely city view, a large bathroom, and a little lounge chair with a table. It was clean and quite spacious, even though I’d booked a double bed by mistake because I hadn’t paid attention. The hotel is about a 5 to 7 minute walk from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where you can catch a streetcar.

The 25th-floor lounge was especially cozy, with free coffee, tea, snacks and dessert, plus a little happy hour and a lovely view of both the north and south sides of the city. Midori gave me a free Hiroshima tour after the hotel stored my luggage when I arrived early. She was so sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. We visited many sites, and I learned a lot about Hiroshima’s history and culture. The walkable location worked really well, and the tour finished at the entrance to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, just where I wanted to be so I could take my time inside. I had a lovely stay and would recommend both this hotel and a tour with Midori.
