Hinano Sato Sanyokan

The corner room was spacious, and the river view was a real plus. Breakfast was a western-Japanese set meal rather than a buffet, and the staff were all polite and helpful. The hotel felt a little dated, though it had been renovated recently, and it had everything I’d expect from an onsen hotel. Staying in Hita also made it easy to drive to nearby towns and spots within 1-2 hours.

The river view is stunning. The onsen is on the 3rd floor and costs 990 Yen, and I’d recommend it.

There’s a clean, tidy onsen, and the restaurant serves good western food. I’d recommend booking a room with meals included. The rooms are spacious, clean, and a great deal for the price, with river views from some of them. The hotel has a retro, traditional feel but stays casual and comfortable. One receptionist speaks English fluently. Each floor had a different surprise, which seemed great for younger guests and families with kids. It was an interesting, recharging stay, enough to make me leave a review :)

The public bath had a little surprise with the words “I do not seek but find”. I did find it, and enjoyed it. My room was spacious and had a great view. The hotel is lovely, with a different theme on each floor, plus a relaxing corner for comics and massage.
