Hotel Aurum Hita

You get what you'd expect from a low-cost business hotel: a comfortable stay in a great spot. There are plenty of things to see within easy flip-flop walking distance, plus lots of restaurants.

In 2026 the interior has been fully updated, apart from the bathroom, and it's still a really good deal for the money. The place is simple and the older interior used to look a bit tired. There's an ice machine for chilling your own drinks, which helps since the fridge takes ages to cool anything.

I've seen the accommodation price rise from about 3,000 yen to around 5,000 yen. My main issue is the shower: the pressure and flow are so weak that a shower that might normally take a woman 10 minutes can take 30. Maybe it's a water-saving showerhead, but it doesn't make for a satisfying shower. Since I only use the place to sleep, I don't have other complaints. I wish they'd add a booster pump to the main boiler.

The floors were clean after the renovation, and there are three separate parking areas. It's fine if all you need is somewhere to stay, though the walls are thin.
