Hotel Alpha-One Hofu

The reception staff are extremely polite. But the washer and dryer are right by the elevator on the third floor, and when someone runs the dryer late at night, nearby rooms get a loud clanking noise that makes it hard to sleep. They should limit the hours or move the machines.

It's a pretty ordinary stay, with no big highs or lows. The unit bath is small, but the room works fine if you're just using it to sleep. Breakfast included at this price is nice. It's a buffet with nothing special, but you can pick what you like. The station is a bit of a walk. I went there for drinks and took a taxi back.

The staff are all so kind, and the complimentary hot towel is a lovely touch. There are about 40 outdoor parking spots, with emergency arrangements if the lot fills up. The attendants put a lot of care into their work and seem to enjoy it. Breakfast is buffet-style. I always get extra when the daily pasta is Kawara Soba. The Nikuja is delicious, and so are all the side dishes.

The breakfast and curry are delicious, but I couldn't find the usual natto, raw egg, and seaweed while choosing food because they were placed at the return counter. They should make them easier to spot. The staff are clean and friendly, and the TV is large. I can watch YouTube on my REGZA. The mornings are cold, but I can't switch the air conditioning to heat. Maybe that's due to the building design, but I wish it allowed switching between heating and cooling. Cars on the neighboring road can also be noisy sometimes.
