SANU 2nd Home Yatsugatake 2nd

We had fun cooking dinner together after buying ingredients at the supermarket; the kitchen already had condiments. The cottage was quiet and warm, with a stove, and we could enjoy the Yatsugatake Mountains and nature all to ourselves. We also had a bonfire outside, something we don't often get to do in Tokyo. The roasted sweet potatoes we made over it were delicious, definitely recommend trying them. It was right in the middle of autumn, with beautiful trees that were soothing to look at, and waking up in the morning felt great. A private nature getaway I really recommend. 🌟

It's a quiet, natural place to get away from the city or work in peace, and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. It works well in summer, but I didn't find it inconvenient in winter either. Himawari Market nearby has a wide selection of fresh vegetables, fruit, seafood, and meat, so getting groceries is easy. There are plenty of cafes too, and it seems like a nice fit for families, couples, and people with dogs. The lodging itself is like the other Sanu locations. From central Tokyo, driving is the easiest way to get there. The trip takes a little over two hours each way, and around rush hour the round trip can take 2.5 to 3 hours, so plan accordingly.

The kitchen had plenty of dishes and seasonings for making proper meals, and the cutlery was beautiful. At night, we could sit quietly around a campfire. There was also a projector and speakers in the room, with a special playlist playing relaxing music. It was a wonderful place and a fantastic experience!

The facilities were excellent, and I especially liked the OSAJI hand soap and shampoo scent. They even provided a vase, a thoughtful touch that let me pick flowers nearby and arrange them. I visited at the end of July, when cicadas filled the quiet space with sound. It was a really restorative stay, and I'd definitely come again.
