Toyoko Inn Nishi Funabashi Baraki Inter

The staff were patient and really kind, even though my Japanese isn’t very good. I stayed for two weeks and found it peaceful. It ended up being the best hotel stay I’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to come back to Japan and stay here again.

The street noise was constant, and the location wasn’t great. From my room, I could see only about a meter ahead, straight into the bedroom across the way. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable, too. We were stuck with a smoking room because the hotel was fully booked, and they couldn’t move us or offer another solution.

For a budget stay, Toyoko Inn is practical and dependable. The rooms are on the small side, but they’re spotless and well cared for, with the basics needed for either a short visit or a longer one. It’s an affordable, comfortable place where cleanliness doesn’t get sacrificed.

The one drawback is the distance from Tokyo, and the nearest convenience store is about 500m away. Still, the free shuttle to Nishi-Funabashi Stn. helps, though it doesn’t run all day, and Tokyo is about a 30-minute train ride. It also seems like a good base for Disneyland. I only ended up here in May 2024 because Tokyo hotels had gotten too expensive, but it turned out to be a lucky find. The staff were helpful, the wi-fi worked reliably, and there was even an in-room LAN cable. Breakfast was decent and FREE, and the bed and bathroom were comfortable and clean.
