Ichimiya Green Hotel

I stay in business hotels often for work, and this one held up well. Even though the building is old, the station is fairly close and the room has decent space. There's a roomy fridge, a TV with BS, and a washlet toilet. I could set the air conditioning myself, the bed had plenty of room, and there was an outlet within reach. The shower was easy to adjust and had strong pressure. I paid about 5,000 yen for a weekday night without meals. It's not easy to find a hotel with all these features, and I thought this was a very good one.

The foreign staff member at reception was helpful and showed me where to park, which I appreciated. As for breakfast, you'd be better off finding somewhere nearby, haha. It's only served at 7 a.m., with no option to change the time, so you can't get it later. The facilities are dated, the Wi-Fi barely works, and the older man at the front desk was stubborn and unfriendly. I've never come across anything like that, haha.

We found it handy as a base for sightseeing and for year-end gatherings, with izakayas and other places to eat close by. We stayed during a family trip in winter. Parking is free, but spaces are first come, first served. The beds were roomy and comfortable, though the unit baths in the guest rooms are small, which was disappointing. Some staff members are from overseas, and they were polite and caused no trouble.

The room looked dated, but it seemed well looked after. The sheets were clean and I couldn't see any dust. The building's exterior is old too, but the man at reception was so friendly that I felt comfortable there. I thought it was a good hotel.
