We were a family of three in the family rooms for seven nights, and the rooms and facilities were very comfortable. Ben, Tim, Finn, and Molly were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating hosts. We even got to hear Tim play guitar. Even with the lodge full, it never felt like a Crowded House. The breakfast was varied and tasty, with plenty going on in the kitchen. We had some lovely sunny days, so maybe it's true that we take the weather with us wherever we go. The location worked well for skiing. A short walk to the end of the street lets you ski down to the main ticket office and chairlifts, and at the end of the day you can ski back to the street. Most restaurants were farther than we'd have liked to walk, but our hosts kindly provided a drop-off and pick-up shuttle, which was amazing. Thanks, Ben, Tim, Finn, and Molly, for making our stay so pleasant. Tony, Steph, and Sophia.

The staff are the best thing about this place. Molly, Ben, and Tim were lovely, welcoming, accommodating, and always up for a yarn. There was another guy who seemed very attached to his laptop and might have been trying to be a musician. I think his name was Flip or Fonkle? Just kidding, Finn. Keep up the music grind, and maybe we'll see you on the big stage one day. It's on the quieter side of Madarao, about a 15-minute walk to Madarao Kogen Hotel. Waking up to a fun fact, joke, or trivia of the day and hot food fresh from the kitchen was really nice.

The staff were awesome and friendly. I loved Tim, Molly, Ben, and the guy who's always on his MacBook making music. Breakfast was great every morning, and it changed each day. The place is legendary, so close to the slopes, with a great view from our room. Couldn't recommend staying here any more!!!!!!

The hotel's location and amenities were amazing, and it was basically ski-in, ski-out. Our room was really comfortable too. Ben, Tim, Molly, and the guy who loves his MacBook and making music made the stay so enjoyable. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Thank you so much.

Ben, Tim, the tall lady who cooks our breakfast, and the tall guy who enjoys music and his MacBook, thank you for being so kind and generous with your help. You made our first Japan ski trip unforgettable, especially by letting my kids shovel. Priceless ❤️❤️❤️ Tim kindly brought us two more portable heaters, but the power trips when we use the hair dryer. We have to go down one floor and ask to have it switched back on, though it comes back quickly. For two nights in a row, I woke up cold because the power had tripped in the middle of the night. I hope something can be done about that in these sub-zero temperatures.
