Pension Blueberry is a quintessential Japanese pension, with warm, cozy rooms and wonderful owners and staff. We stayed from December 18, 2025, to January 29, 2026. It's a short walk to the ski slopes, and they serve great breakfasts and dinners. They also have a modern, architect-designed Japanese luxury apartment for four guests. If you're a family or group of four, ask about it, it's well worth it. The lodge also rents modern ski and snowboard equipment at ridiculously low prices.

The owners were super kind, and breakfast was delicious. It's a lovely, cozy lodge with a fireplace, right near the slopes.

They even made us a tasty vegetarian meal with several courses: soup, starter, salad, main, and rice. The staff were incredibly kind, and the wooden interior made this cute mountain lodge feel really cozy. The location is perfect, right by a huge parking lot and at the entrance to the skiing area.

After checkout, they found a 10000 dollar note in the bed and mailed it back to us. Kazuhiro, the owner, gave us the best hospitality and service. The lodge is conveniently located, just a five-minute walk from the ski resort, and the rooms are clean and cozy. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious, perfect before a day of skiing. They're extremely honest and humble people. Highly recommend Blueberry Pension.

We had trouble booking a taxi, and wonder stepped in to help us sort it out. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was exceptional. It's an incredible, homey ski lodge, just a short walk from Madarao ski resort. You'll have a great stay here at blueberry.
