We were comfortable as a family of five, and the chalet was much more spacious than the other places we stayed in Japan. It even became the gathering spot for our friends after skiing and snowboarding. The modern, beautiful place is right in the heart of Madarao, very close to the slopes and chair lift. Alice and Andrea were so helpful, and the YouTube videos made it much easier to use the appliances for those of us who don’t read Japanese. We knew as soon as we walked in that it was somewhere special. Amazing location and place, and amazing skiing and snowboarding. We’ll look to book again next year.

Alice made our visit to Madarao much easier. She was warm, easy to reach, and quick to help, and we really appreciated the extra reassurance along the way. Tombi Lodge itself is beautifully put together, with thoughtful touches throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped, and shopping at Tsuruya (Iiyama) was great. That made a big difference for someone in our group with food allergies who couldn't eat out. We had a wonderful stay and left with lovely memories. Everything we’d read from earlier guests rang true.

Alice was so kind and accommodating, and we’d happily come back in winter. Tombi lodge 1 is modern, roomy, and well equipped. The three-level lodge sleeps up to eight comfortably, or up to 16 if you book lodge 1 and 2 together since they’re next door to each other. Highly recommend!

Alice helped us through booking and planning, including sorting out a hire car and lift passes, which made things easy. Tombi lodge Madarao was clean and new, with a kitchen and amenities that worked well for our stay. It’s also close to restaurants and only a short walk from the slopes. We had a great time there and would book again without hesitation.

Just 100m from the slopes, Tombi Lodge felt like a cosy little hideaway. The owners helped us with restaurant suggestions and gave us useful details on transport, lift tickets, rentals, and activities, so the trip ran smoothly. The furniture and kitchen appliances were high quality, and the place felt like a luxurious home away from home. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!
