The owners and staff are super friendly, though there’s no English, so use Google Translate. Oiwa has a lot of charm, with basic minshuku-style tatami rooms and shared toilets and amenities. It’s right across from a fishing port, and some of the best seafood I’ve had in Japan, or anywhere, was prepared fresh from the local catch. It’s a bit remote, but that’s part of the point. Don’t expect luxury amenities. This place is a hidden gem.
