HOTEL R9 The Yard Inabe

I love how this container hotel makes everything fit into a small space. It’s the only one in the middle of Mie, and the room has what you need, though two people with luggage really only have room for two suitcases. They offer free coffee and meal coupons. Smoking is outside, just a few steps from the entrance. They also replace the bathroom towels every day, whether you want them changed or not.

Near Komono cho, and affordable enough to make sense if all you need is a place to sleep. Breakfast is fast food from reception.

Once you’re in the room, it feels much like any other hotel room. It’s cheap, too.

I’d wondered about R9 The Yard for a while, and finally got to stay there. Having the room right behind the car made for a pretty unusual experience, and the short distances, both across and up and down, were handy. Getting luggage in and heading out took very little time, which made the stay more relaxed. The weak soundproofing was a downside. You don’t hear noise between the containers, but some traffic comes through, partly because R9 The Yard is right by a main road. Still, staying in a container was a novel experience, and I’d like to try another location sometime.
