Tokyu Stay Meguro Yutenji

The view from our room was great, and the staff were really nice. It’s in a lovely, quiet residential part of Tokyo and a great place to start our holiday as first-time visitors. Highly recommended.

It was good for the price and met my expectations. The room was a bit rundown and the place isn’t fancy, but the location made it a great base for my Tokyo stay. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and understood English.

There’s no hotel parking, but there is a public parking lot across the road. The location is great, close to Yutenji station and a department store, and they have free coffee in the morning. The room has so many facilities that it feels like an apartment or condominium, including a microwave, sink for washing dishes, dishes, forks, spoons, and a washing machine. Nice hotel!

I wish I’d looked into the reviews more carefully before booking. As soon as I entered the room, I noticed a strong moldy smell and spider webs on the wall. The yellowish pillows and blanket made me uncomfortable about sleeping there. I asked to change rooms, but staff said none were available. When I checked online, though, it looked like plenty were still open for booking, which was really frustrating. I hated all five nights of sleep there in Tokyo. After this experience, I canceled my Tokyu Stay booking in Kyoto and chose another hotel for the rest of my trip. I’m so glad I did. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable stay.
