For the price and the distance to Nekoma Mountain, I think it's a good option for a snowboarding trip. Still, the building has a very retro feel. My 4.5-tatami room was spacious and clean, though the old tatami was soft enough that I sank a little while walking. A centipede appeared too. I don't mind bugs, but some guests probably would. The bathroom was roomy and charming, but cold, and the shower pressure was weak. I didn't feel like soaking for long. Maybe it was me or the order of my bath slot, which is assigned by room, but even though the bath was set to 41 degrees and didn't feel hot, my body started itching, so I had to rinse off again under the weak shower. I'd stay if it was available, taking the whole situation into account, but I wouldn't pick it just out of curiosity.

An old-style inn, with dated but well-cleaned facilities. I only stayed overnight while climbing, and the owner was very kind, walking me through everything from the room to the bath. One thing to keep in mind is that the doors are thin. Even if you're by yourself, a noisy group can be heard clearly from your room.

It's a low-cost stay even in the busy winter season, and I found the place clean despite the old building. The toilet is new and has a bidet, and the bathroom was roomy enough for one person, with no issues for me. There doesn't seem to be Wi-Fi, but apps like Povo make it easy enough to get by.

I called to say I'd arrive before 8 PM, but they kept complaining that I was late. The latest check-in is 8:30 PM, so there wasn't actually a problem. I pushed back, and they still didn't say they'd be waiting for me. A man helped me after that, and there were no more issues. I'm used to budget places, and personally, 3,500 yen per person feels expensive here. There's a 10 PM curfew, no air conditioning, and no Wi-Fi. I wouldn't recommend it in midsummer or midwinter. The bathroom is by reservation and subject to availability. I didn't use it because I'd heard it was dirty. If you bring your own dinner, you have to take your rubbish away. The toilets are shared, so footsteps at night can wake you up. Guests heading out to the mountains or sightseeing often start at 4 or 5, so you may get woken up even if you want to rest. That said, if you're used to cheap accommodation, it can be acceptable. They do seem to try to keep the place as clean as possible, and the location is handy for sightseeing. The points above are worth considering.
