Good.

Breakfast was tasty and filling, with free refills of white rice in the dining room, and you can also eat in your room. There’s tea and coffee, plus a microwave and amenities on the first floor. I appreciated the free ice cream after my bath, though with my child along I didn’t have time to eat it. The receptionist was polite, the futons were clean and fluffy, and despite the building’s age I didn’t see any bugs. A Lawson is nearby, so I didn’t miss having a convenience store or vending machines on site. The building feels like an apartment block renovated after about 35 years. The guest room itself was clean, but the kitchenette, toilet, indoor bath, and other plumbing seemed quite dated. People used to older rooms may not mind. The first-floor public bath is generally for men; women need to go to the main building for the larger bath. The receptionist said it may be possible to use the public bath as a family bath if you ask. I was also uneasy about the balcony bay-window lock, which was within reach of a one-year-old. There were no service problems, and if I came again I’d choose the main building, even if that meant no indoor bath. You could call the place retro Showa-era, but I can see it being hard for someone who cares about the feeling of cleanliness. It was clean, though. A difficult one to judge.

I spent one night here for work. The main building’s large bath, just nearby, was clean and comfortable. There’s no elevator, which could be a hassle with big bags, and no vending machines in the hotel. A Lawson is close by.

The room had such a strong cigarette smell it felt as if everything had been incinerated. The cigarette burns hadn’t been treated either, which seemed really unsanitary. What upset me most was finding that my room had been cleaned without any warning or permission. I’m a woman and had underwear drying outside. If they’d told me beforehand, I could have prepared, but instead my privacy was violated. When I called the front desk, the response was, “I’m not in charge of cleaning,” with no apology at all. It was disgusting and extremely unpleasant. Women in particular are likely to find this place inconvenient and uncomfortable. I’d never stay here again, and I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it.
