The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and I loved the riverside setting. It is a bit out of the way, though. My room was kind of dirty, but the bathroom and bed were clean, and that's what counts.

After a whole day of travel, relaxing with a hot bath felt great. Inuyamayuen station isn't far, and the riverside walk has a breathtaking view. Inuyama Castle is easy to get to, too. I'd love to stay again.
I stayed here from March 24 to April 4, 2012.
The shared bathrooms each have a hot spring. Breakfast was buffet-style, while lunch and dinner were set menus. The WiFi wasn't very good, though I'm sure it's something they could fix. We came on a retreat with a large group, and the staff were so accommodating. The hospitality went beyond what I'd call good, and made us feel at home.
I chose Inuyama International Youth Hostel for a relaxing bath and because my vegetable garden is nearby. It's quietly tucked among the forest beside the Kiso River, and you don't need to be a youth member to stay. The basic amenities are there, though there isn't a refrigerator in the room. There is a shared fridge and microwave in the lobby. Individual guests aren't offered dinner or breakfast, and there are no restaurants nearby, so you'll need to bring food. The accommodation and vending machine prices for drinks and ice cream are reasonable. I'd like to stay for several nights next time. I'll bring the three-way fridge I used for camping, lol.
