This was such a special stay. The minshuku-style house gave us a glimpse of local life, and the owner is an incredible cook. Her meals were honestly better than the island's restaurants. She shared plenty about local produce and how to make dishes from her family. You can tell how much she loves her island from the way she talks and cooks. Really, really nice. A+!
I came back for a second stay, and it still feels so comforting, like being at my parents' home. The owner starts the day with a delicious breakfast and also suggests plenty of great places to go. There's a tatami room too, which makes it safe and convenient with children (^-^).
Our flights were cancelled and we were stuck with nowhere to stay, but luckily this B&B had a room available. It was late at night, and the owner still opened the door for us and put out food and drinks. I was so touched. I highly recommend it!
