Nisshokan

The dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I paid around $195 USD for one adult and one child. The ryokan beds were comfortable and very clean, and I liked having my own big sink and toilet in the room. The public bath was clean, though a bit small. With more than two people there, I would've started feeling uncomfortable. As a woman traveling alone, I found the staff amazing. They tried hard to speak English, and were so kind and considerate that they made me as comfortable as possible. I feel bad that the language barrier can be tiring for hosts. It was very quiet at night, and the location was great. I'd recommend the place to quiet, mature foreign travelers. One downside is that there aren't taxis around, so relying only on public buses could be difficult.

We booked at the very last minute, on the morning we arrived, and stayed two nights. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and the service was excellent. Our room was comfortable with an ocean view, though the walls are thin enough that we sometimes heard the neighbors coughing. Breakfast was excellent, and the onsen was more than okay.

The owner was very kind. It's a clean, quiet hotel with a nice view, and the food was excellent!

The shower pressure in the bath area dropped a lot when several people were using it, which was the one downside. Otherwise, the building and rooms had a Showa-era look and were kept very clean. The food was satisfying, especially the stew, and they served grilled oysters too, though those aren't pictured. Meoto Iwa Rocks are within walking distance, making it handy for sightseeing and for morning or evening strolls. I'd definitely stay again on a trip to Toba-Ise.
