Granview Ishigaki

Clean rooms and daily housekeeping, breakfast included, and a clean onsen with a steam room. The staff were friendly, and it's close to the airport, walking street, and pier, about a 30-minute bus ride from the airport. I'll stay here again :)

It's an old hotel with a smell like local motels in the USA, but it was well cleaned and all the attendants were young and very responsive.

Having a hot spring is a real plus, and the building is new with clean facilities. The location works well for sightseeing around Ishigaki Island and for island hopping, since the ferry terminal is nearby. One downside is that the smoking area is outside the building.

The breakfast was delicious, with lots of dishes using local ingredients. Yaeyama yakisoba and champuru were especially good, and I think they should advertise the breakfast more. The staff were polite and helpful, the large public bath was clean and pleasant, and the hotel and rooms were clean and spacious, with plenty of room for suitcases. With those facilities and the convenient location, it seems like good value. You're near the bus and ferry terminals, and it's about a 30-minute bus ride from the airport. Buses run after the last regular one to match flight times, so late-night arrivals are covered. The bus stop in front of the museum was handy. A few small things: the last entry to the public bath is 9:30 PM, the airport bus timetable can be hard to find online, though the hotel provides clear paper timetables, and Wi-Fi is a bit slow. None of that would stop me from coming back.
