Hotel Paikaji

I spent nine days in a capsule room and was happy with my stay. It was clean, towels were supplied daily, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The showers and toilets were always available and clean. The common room was clean too, with plenty of seats, a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. They even drove me to the airport when I left, which was great service. I rented a moped from a nearby shop, and the hotel worked well as a base for heading north and west to beaches and such. I’m not sure how it would work for someone relying on buses or walking, since it seems to be at the far end of town, but that wasn’t an issue for me. There are several places to eat within walking distance, plus a 24-hour supermarket across the road and a 24-hour laundromat next door. Just be aware there’s no front desk staff from around 7:30pm to 7:30am. My only suggestions would be lockers in the capsule room for valuables and maybe a drying rack for swimsuits and towels. I’d come back.

A handy place to stay on Ishigaki, close to the city, a shop, and the beach. The staff are really nice and resourceful. It’s easy to rent a bike, and there’s a common area to use. I’d recommend it to anyone coming here!

For my 16-night stay, the room rate was very reasonable, and having rental cars and parking included was a big draw when I was searching for a hotel. They also had an airport shuttle. The sheets were changed every five days, which helped the room feel clean, and the 24-hour coin laundry right next door was convenient. I stayed in a capsule-style room, so the refrigerator, toilet, and shower were shared, but that was fine. There’s also a 24-hour supermarket across the street, with a table where I could eat what I bought and read quietly. The staff were friendly and helped with everything I needed. I’d stay with them again on my next visit to Ishigaki Island.

I was mainly trying to save money, so I booked a capsule room and ended up very satisfied. There was Wi-Fi, a shower, and amenities like a razor and toothbrush, though no loungewear. The room was roomy enough to stretch out in, even at 180cm tall. I could tell the owner had paid attention to the details. For improvements, I’d have liked a wall-mounted mirror, since not having one gave me neck pain. Cleanliness was good, but with so much white decor, a few spots were easy to notice. A little more cleaning in those areas would make it a truly excellent hotel.
