Minshuku Irayoi Annex Akagawara

The homemade food was delicious, the location was convenient, and the value was great. The owners were friendly and helpful, and they offer tasty home-cooked breakfast and dinner. One of them speaks English fluently. If you're not driving, there's a road nearby with lots of buses that make it easy to get to the port or bus terminals. And if you like dogs, there are four lovely ones. If you don't, they're kept at a distance.

My husband and I had a great stay. The guesthouse was clean, and the people running it were wonderfully kind and helpful, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. The bus stop is a five-minute walk away, and the airport is just one stop from there. We were really happy we stayed here.

The meals were a real highlight, especially breakfast and dinner. Our hosts were warm and helpful, and one of them even sang “irayoi tsuki no hama” :D. I had such a good stay and came away with memories I'll keep for a long time. Thaaaankkk yooooou

It felt like being welcomed into a family during our short stay. The host took me and his dogs for a long walk along a beautiful beach, sharing lots about Okinawan culture and local beliefs. He was so kind and warm, and I really felt that legendary Japanese omotenashi. He also gave us pineapple, dragon fruit, and peanuts powder mochi, plus a plumeria tree cutting from his garden to take back to Tokyo. His wife speaks fluent English and makes lovely traditional art that decorates the living room. Absolutely recommended, I'll be back for sure.
