A good business hotel.

The 12 p.m. checkout is a real plus, and on longer stays you can bring your towels to the front desk during staffed hours to have them replaced. Supermarkets and convenience stores are a short walk away, though there aren't any right nearby. You can smoke on the balcony, and the beds are made with care. Having a washing machine, kettle, and microwave in the room makes the place feel like an apartment, which I find relaxing. There's a mug, plus a sponge and detergent, so I always wash it before using it. I've stayed a few times. Once the room seemed not to have been cleaned, so anyone bothered by that may want to steer clear. Also, the door doesn't lock automatically, which means someone who isn't staying there could get in easily. Apart from those issues, it's great.

The place is fairly quiet and has the feel of a monthly apartment. I liked being able to stay without having to meet anyone, and otherwise had no complaints. Luggage storage can be tricky outside check-in and checkout, since nobody is at the front desk from 3 to 8 p.m. I contacted them ahead of time, but there still wasn't anyone there on the day, so I had to leave my bags at the bus terminal.

The location worked really well, within walking distance of the remote island terminal and Euglena Mall. Our family of four stayed two nights, and the room was spacious, with a separate bathroom and toilet. The price felt reasonable for what we got, and the essentials were all there, including a hair dryer. The one annoyance was laundry. There was a washer and dryer, but detergent was only sold in amounts costing 1,500-2,000 yen, so we ended up walking to nearby MaxValu every night. I'd stayed at Hotel Kinjo six times over the last two years while visiting Ishigaki, and wish I'd found it earlier. If I go to Miyako again, I'll stay at Hotel Kinjo. Thanks!
