The rooms were pretty nice, and breakfast was fresh, homemade, and delicious. Parking is free, and at low tide there’s a muddy beach right out front. We’d planned four nights, but a major typhoon made the electricity unreliable. The staff suggested we move to a safer hotel in the city center and refunded the last two nights. They were really, really kind.

It’s close to the coast, which is a nice location. The city center is a long way off, but that wasn’t a problem with a rental car.

I stayed here on a weekday in February, right by the coast near a mangrove. Since it’s a cottage, I could park just outside the entrance. The room was roomy, with four beds, a big fridge, microwave, stove, and plastic dishes. There wasn’t a frying pan. The toilet and bath share one room like in a business hotel, but both had plenty of space and were easy to use. Coffee is free all the time, and Blue Seal ice cream costs 200 yen. Extra towels are available to borrow in the lobby building. There’s a coin laundry behind the building, with the washer and dryer each costing 200 yen. Powdered detergent was there, but no softener, so I bought gel balls for 100 yen. The dryer ran for more than 30 minutes, but my clothes came out dry in one go. I’d booked an early tour of the three islands for the next day, so I missed breakfast. That was fine since there was a microwave in the room. They apparently offer a barbecue dinner, but town is only about 15 minutes away, so I went there to eat. Staying close to the sea was definitely nice.

We brought our large dog, and I really appreciated how kindly everyone treated him. The garden fence was secure, so I didn’t have to worry about him getting out, and after beach time we could rinse him using the garden tap. The room had plenty of space and a small kitchen. Towels were clean, and we could swap them whenever we wanted. Our breakfast plan was a good choice. It changed daily, tasted great every day, and was very satisfying. The free coffee was tasty too. Most of the staff were from overseas, and they greeted us warmly and were so friendly that we felt comfortable throughout the stay. A few small requests, if possible: pet-friendly plans could include pet sheets, a leash hook outside the entrance would be useful, and a short hose, even around 50 cm, on the garden tap would help. Thanks so much for looking after us. We’d love to come back, so please keep us in mind. 🙏
