Château Le Fleur

They welcomed us warmly, and the price was good. We could use the onsen as much as we wanted, with three family baths and natural water. I wish the bathroom had a washlet. Cash only.

The rooms are large and clean, and the price is reasonable. Aiko San was a very hospitable host. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

No washlet in Japan... kind of a deal breaker for me.

We liked it enough to come back after checking out and spending some time out. The owner was friendly and chatted with us about all sorts of things. Our plan came with a welcome drink, and the British-style drinks and cakes were delicious. The rooms, bathrooms, and hallways were all incredibly clean. There aren’t bidets in the toilets yet, but unused seat covers were provided so the seats wouldn’t feel cold. It sounds like toilet renovations are planned soon. The main downside for us was the noise from other guests’ children. It’s luck of the draw whether you get noisy neighbors, but the voices and other sounds carried a lot. On our second day they were next door, and it was too noisy to relax in our room. That seemed to be about guests not keeping their children in check, rather than anything the hotel did. While we were using one of the three family bathrooms, we smelled cigarette smoke coming through the window. I wondered if a guest might have been smoking in the bath. I hope to try the British home cooking someday, and would like to stay again.
