Happy Chippy

I came by myself on a motorcycle tour, and the friendly owner, his son and his wife made the pension feel homey and comfortable. Their third-generation mascot dog, Kafu-chan, was there to greet us, and was so cute. The owner rides motorcycles too, so we had a great time talking bikes. It’s a fun place for motorcyclists as well as people traveling with pets. Highly recommended!

The building’s older, but the heartfelt hospitality made the inn comfortable, and we could relax there with our dog. The carefully prepared barbecue was hearty, and breakfast was delicious too. We enjoyed the semi-open-air bath. It was nice to unwind, though next time I’d like to visit when it’s not so hot. There are lots of dog-friendly places nearby, which makes it a fun destination.

I stayed at Nihaku in October on a breakfast-only plan. The first-floor room was spacious, and relaxing was easy with both an indoor bath and an open-air one. The couple and their adorable son welcomed me warmly, and I felt very comfortable. They pointed me to a nearby dog-friendly restaurant for dinner, and everything was delicious. I’d stay again if I get the chance to visit Izu.

Happy Chippy is right beside Izukogen no Yu, so you can enjoy the hot springs nearby. There’s also a little dog run and a terrace where you can have tasty barbecue. The owner is easy to talk to and loves French cars. His wife makes really delicious food and desserts. This place feels like heaven in Izu.
