Izu Workation

The host was quick to respond, and we had everything we needed. It's a nice, basic, affordable place, well suited to four or five people. You'll definitely need a car.

We stayed here on a family trip and would use it again if the chance comes up. The rooms have been renovated with a clean, modern look, plenty of furniture, and thorough cleaning. USB ports and charging outlets in each room were especially handy, just as the name “workation” suggests. Finding the place with navigation was difficult, even though we were warned in advance, and local residents didn't know the route either, so it took a while. There were also a lot of mosquitoes, which is understandable at the height of summer. Plenty of mosquito repellent products are available, so that wasn't a problem.

I went on a workation with a friend, and it felt like a little retreat. We had a great time working side by side, and I could get plenty done while enjoying Izu. No complaints at all, and thank you! The work setup was excellent: a work chair, comfortable desk, projector, whiteboard, coffee maker, and even a takoyaki maker. WiFi was the most important part for me, and it was fast and reliable. Power strips in every room made it easy to move my workspace around depending on my mood. The kitchen was ready for self-catering, and there are restaurants nearby too. Several hot springs in the area made it easy to enjoy the trip along with the work.

For the price, the place is in amazing shape. It's a great fit for five people, with four air conditioners (heaters/air conditioners), two beds, and three plush mattresses. My only real issue is that there's just one bathroom, though everything else is pretty much perfect. There's a rice cooker, oven, and microwave, and the TV even supports YouTube lol. The location is a bit awkward, but the place is totally awesome.
