We stayed over the New Year's holiday and paid under 40,000 yen for breakfast, dinner, a private bath, and a place that welcomed dogs. The pension only takes four groups, and we'd managed to book after someone cancelled. The meals were generous and all tasty, from the sirloin steak and sashimi to the other dishes. My husband eats a lot and seemed very satisfied. The building used to be a health resort, so it's older, but everything was well kept and we had a nice stay. There are two kinds of baths, all private, and they were regularly cleaned and disinfected. It felt safe to use them. The 15-minute free aromatherapy treatment was relaxing, and Rin-chan, the friendly, adorable mascot dog, was a delight. The couple who run this small place are so warm and kind. It's conveniently located in Ito City near Mount Omuro and other sights. The ratings make sense, we loved it and would like to return.

The owner and his wife greeted us with big smiles, which made a great first impression. We visited this guesthouse on July 23rd as a family of three, bringing our Chihuahua and Toy Poodle. The spacious rooms were comfortable, and there was plenty of room throughout the guesthouse. The meals were generous and delicious, and having the bath to ourselves was just right. For such a reasonable price, I don't think it's easy to find another guesthouse this good. We'll definitely come back!

At MERCI0823, I could choose from several pillow types when I checked in, which I appreciated since pillows matter. The bed was comfortable too. I booked because of the strong reviews, the no-smoking rule throughout the building, and the fact that solo guests were accepted. During Golden Week I stayed at Sunroad in Izukogen, where the staff, food, baths, and dog pool were great, but smoking indoors and in the rooms left everything smelling like cigarettes. As a non-smoker, I'm very grateful MERCI0823 is smoke-free. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcomed me warmly even during busy Obon. The reviews were right. On the first night, golden eye shabu-shabu and steak were delicious and filling. The second night brought a huge simmered golden eye, carpaccio of flying fish and ___ sea bream, whose name I forgot, plus roast beef. Even I couldn't finish it all, though I eat a lot. My one food wish was for tasty white rice instead of germinated rice, which seems healthy. The five-grain rice at breakfast was good, though. Women can get a free 15-minute aromatherapy treatment, but as a man I couldn't use it. Sorry my dog made a mess by the entrance (^_^;). A few reviews say it's hard to find with a navigation system, but if that happens, Yahoo! Navigation on your phone makes it easy.

Dinner was shabu-shabu with sea bream and yellowtail, and the steak was tender and delicious too (^^). The bath was spacious and relaxing, and our dog loved the dog run. I'd love to come again ✨
