K's House Ito Onsen - Historical Ryokan Hostel

The staff were so kind and helpful. I accidentally left my coat behind after checking out, and when I emailed them, they took the time to send it to my next accommodation. I had a wonderful two-night stay at K’s House Ito Onsen. The shared traditional room and common area had a lovely river view, and relaxing in the private onsen after a long day of sightseeing was great. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We found the hot spring especially enjoyable, and the staff were pleasant to talk to, with most of them speaking two languages. My wife and I had a really relaxing stay. The place is beautiful and gives you a sense of how people in Japan lived before modern-day life. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed during our travels.

We enjoyed the river views from both our room and the downstairs common rooms. The kitchen was useful and had everything we needed, although it did get busy. There’s plenty to explore in the area, and the prices are very affordable. The historic building is beautiful, and my family and I felt comfortable using both the private and public onsens. The main drawback was noise: from our second-floor room, we could hear footsteps and people talking, which made it hard to stay asleep. The beds were okay, but the cushions could be better. Even with those downsides, there was a lot to like about this place.

There are private and public baths, plus a common area for breakfast or dinner. You can also buy food, keep it in the fridge, and make your own meals in the kitchen. There’s a microwave too.
