Dinner was the highlight. The sashimi selection was varied and very fresh, and the hot-plate wagyu was tender and tasty. The dinner staff spoke excellent English. Our room was spacious, with a good view and comfortable beds. The service was friendly and excellent from the start, including a quick pickup when we called from Hiraiwa Stn. There are indoor and outdoor onsens, both hot with good water, but no sauna. We also got 30 minutes of private bath use at no charge. The return shuttle even took us all the way to Itoigawa Stn, which was a pleasant surprise.

Set in a lovely valley across the Himekawa river, this calm and welcoming hot springs hotel is also easy to reach. It sits along the JR Oito line, about a 10-minute walk from Hiraiwa station, and has both indoor and outdoor baths.

The staff's kindness really stayed with me. They looked after everything we needed with warm smiles, and Miss Kimura went especially far out of her way. Thank you so much, Kimura san! Our room was huge for two people, and the onsen was great. The 11-course meal was AMAZING. Kudos to the chef.

The place was spotless, from the corridors and changing rooms to the window frames. The cleaning was so thorough that I felt really comfortable there. I came for a day trip to enjoy the hot springs. There was plenty of hot water, with fresh water overflowing, and the outdoor bath in the women's section was hot just the way I like it. The double cherry blossoms were in full bloom, making for a beautiful view. I'd gladly visit again if I get the chance.
